TN Guardrail is now on the map! 🗺️
The Safety in Numbers team just finished uploading the TDOT Guardrail open data set onto map.safe7y.com. In case you’ve never heard about Safety in Numbers or our open-source road safety map, be sure to check out this article for some context.
This update adds more than 45,000 new features, mostly W-Beam Guardrail and Cable Barrier to the map and will make condition assessment of TN barriers much easier.
We’d like to thank TDOT (the Tennessee Department of Transportation) for providing this information on their open data portal.
If you are interested in this kind of geo-spatial data mining you can find the open-source code that makes this happen in the street-sweeper project on gitlab.com.
Keep on the look out for more updates, and if you have a data set you want to see on map.safe7y.com please email@example.com.
