We’re making road hazards, and features, public knowledge
Safety in Numbers is excited to announce the launch of our new public map! This map allows anyone to identify road safety features and flag potential problems or hazards.
We are launching it alongside a wiki which will contain everything we have learned about road safety devices and common problems we see on the road.
🗺️ Why are we mapping?
Up till now many organizations have been collecting pieces this data in their own, independent, and usually private sites. We believe that public safety should be public knowledge. This site combines data from many different sites into one place so that DOTs, manufacturers, and researchers can all use it to make the road safer.
We believe that public safety information should be, well, public .
We are mapping permanent road hardware like signs, and barriers and a selection of roadway safety features like rumble strips and lane markings.
For a complete list check out our wiki.
